Love your body... naturally with OSHE body balms

During the winter months our body's skin can become dry, dehydrated, itchy and scaly, and it is usually not as pampered with nutrient lotions and balms like our faces are.

Our skin is semi-permeable which means that it allows certain substances to pass out of the body (toxins), and it also equally absorbs certain substances like synthetic and natural ingredients, what ever we apply basically.

Many people have serious concerns these days about using synthetic skin and body care ingredients, because of the unknown possibility of systemic effects, detrimental long term effects on the skin, skin allergens, toxicity and carcinogenicity.

The most common of synthetic irritants are; soap (caustic soda), shampoo's and deodorants (synthetic surfactants), body butters and lotions (preservatives and fragrances).

OSHE's recommendations to a naturally beautiful body…

  1. Regular exfoliating the skin on your body with preferably a great natural bristle body brush, at least 3 times a week. This will assist in sloughing off dead skin cells and allow the new plump cells to come to the epidermis (top layer of skin). It will also increase blood and lymph circulation in the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) that feed the growing cell layers, and this will in turn help to improve the whole health of the skin.
  2. Nourishing with natural balms made from pure plant oils will assist in keeping the skin well hydrated. Try EXQUISITE HAND & BODY BALM (click here)500ml (normal skin) or SUPREMACY HAND & BODY BALM (click here) 500ml (dry or dehydrated skin). Commercial skin preparations concentrate on adding lubricating synthetic oils to the surface of the skin, whereas natural ingredients with natural humectants such as almond, jojoba, macadamia, natural vitamin E, cocoa butter and vitamin B5 and essential oils for specific skin types, all assist in stimulating sebaceous glands to function more efficiently.
  3. a) Eating a well balanced diet that includes vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, and nuts, for basic vitamins and minerals.
    b) Getting a good quality protein from vegetable sources and fish preferably, this assists in providing the body with energy that is needed for the manufacture of hormones, antibodies, enzymes, and tissues. It also helps maintain the proper acid-alkali balance in the body.
    c) Increasing your essential fatty acid intake preferably flaxseed oil which are omega 3 fatty acids, which are high in magnesium, potassium and fiber, also B vitamins, protein and zinc. Essential fatty acids cannot be manufactured in the body, they need to be provided through diet or supplements. They help to improve the skin and hair, reduce blood pressure, aid in the prevention of arthritis, lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and assist in reducing the risk of blood clot formation. Every living cell in the body needs essential fatty acids, as they are essential for rebuilding and producing new cells. Essential fatty acids are also used by the body for the production of prostaglandins, hormone-like substances that act as chemical messengers and regulators of various body processes.
    d) Last but not least it is essential for our bodies cells to be hydrated, and drinking approximately 8- 10 glasses of fresh purified water daily will ensure a well-hydrated skin on your body.

When the general health of the skin is improved, naturally the blood supply to its new skin layers will also benefit, and the results will be a softer and more supple hydrated skin.
